In cooperation with our Hakuna Matata Amazon Lodge, we would like to introduce an exciting new product: our Cooking & Chocolate Class. A culinary highlight of a special kind.
The staff of the lodge, which is located in the province of Napo and belongs to the indigenous Kichwa, will present our guests one of the most popular and delicious dishes of the exotic cuisine of the Amazon region: Maito.
A kind of "wrap" from the grill, made of Bijao leaves, filled with different ingredients like fish, palmitos (palm hearts) & yucca. A regional and sustainable dish that never disappoints. And the best part is that you can learn to prepare it yourself.
Of course, no dessert should be missing to a delicious main course. After there were many interesting & exciting facts about the cultivation of cacao and the processing from the fruit to the chocolate, you can try yourself to make your own chocolate creation.
