Zusammen mit El Mirador und Tikal ist Calakmul eine der größten jemals entdeckten Maya-Städte. Das Biosphärenreservat von Calakmul ist in seiner Art einzigartig und wartet mit einer überbordenden Flora und Fauna auf. Als Höhepunkt besuchen wir die einst mächtige Maya-Stadt Calakmul, die tief versteckt im Regenwald liegt und nur über eine schmale Naturstraße erreichbar ist.

But you will also visit the east coast which is not so touristic. Visit Xalapa with the Anthropological Museum explaining various hundered of years old Mexican cultures and traditions. You will have access to the ex-hacienda which was the former residence of the former president. Move your body with the rhythm of the Folklore dances in the port city of Veracruz and enjoy the picturesque town of Tlacotalpan. Another highlight is the boat trip on Lake Catemaco to the eco-reserve Nanciyaga.
