Mundo Verde Adventure Journey 2026

The Mundo Verde adventure journey, which combines Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama over 15 days, has long been one of the classics among our cross-border seat-in trips. We have now revised this round trip, including the change that from December 2025 the tour will start in Nicaragua.

You can find the updated itinerary on Latinconnect: Mundo Verde Adventure Journey 2026 / Small Group Tour (Seat-in Trip, German-speaking, 15 days / 14 nights).

Our product managers add the following notes regarding the updates. As always, the tour can be booked centrally via ARA Tours.

The tour now starts on Sundays directly in Nicaragua (instead of Costa Rica). This allows guests to travel through the three countries in sequence and eliminates one of the two former border crossings at Peñas Blancas.

Updated activities in Nicaragua:

Now Days 3 & 4: A second overnight stay on Ometepe can be arranged, including the ascent of Volcano Madera and a kayak tour on Lake Nicaragua (from/to Playa Cayman). This allows guests to gain even deeper insights into Nicaragua’s unspoilt nature.

Updated activities in Costa Rica:

Now Day 7: Night walk with cultural exchange Experience the fascinating diversity of the tropical rainforest at night. Together, guests look out for colourful tree frogs, lizards, insects, birds and other nocturnal animals. Midway through the tour, a delicious refreshment awaits: freshly pressed sugarcane juice and its derivatives, providing new energy for further discoveries. The experience concludes with a traditional Costa Rican dinner, lovingly prepared on a wood-fired stove.

Now Day 11: After breakfast, luggage is loaded onto the bus and the journey continues to a more than 100-year-old cocoa plantation. During an informative guided tour, guests learn everything about cocoa cultivation and even get to taste it fresh. Historic machines, now displayed in a small museum, offer insight into the past, while the full production process from cocoa fruit to finished chocolate is explained in detail.
