Casa de la Cultura Tortuguero

In Tortuguero, music comes to life in a very special place: the Casa de la Cultura (House of Culture). Here, a small ensemble of dedicated young musicians rehearses with passion, keeping the tradition of Costa Rican Calypso alive while giving it fresh energy and rhythm.

But music is only one part of the rich cultural heritage of Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. To help preserve and celebrate these local treasures, the AKP Foundation of the Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group has taken the lead in supporting this inspiring community-based cultural project and ARA Tours is delighted to join forces in this initiative! - -

Following initial improvements to the infrastructure, a small museum is expected to open towards the beginning of 2027 and will become part of guided village walks. At first, the experience will be available to small groups and guests travelling with guides, with plans to welcome independent travellers at a later stage.
